Mr Anthony Uiterwijk

Acting Western Co-Principal

Mr Anthony Uiterwijk was born and educated in The Netherlands. After teaching in a vocational secondary school for a number of years he and his wife Marja immigrated to New Zealand.  In 1991 Mr Uiterwijk accepted his first School Principal’s job in Te Anau. In 1995, he took up the Principal’s position at Nelson, New Zealand. Meanwhile, Mr Uiterwijk completed further studies in Educational Management at Massey University and the University of Canterbury. In 2011, he worked at the International School of Bologna (an IB/PYP School) as a teacher and accreditation co-ordinator. He also did training with the Council of International Schools and worked for them as an Accreditation Officer.

Mr Uiterwijk started his career at Yew Wah International Education School of Guangzhou as the Head of Primary School in 2015. Starting from September  2017, Mr Uiterwijk works as the Vice Co-Principal of Yew Wah International Education School of Beijing.  Mr Uiterwijk is now the Vice Co-Principal of Yew Wah International Education School of Guangzhou.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family (he has two daughters) playing guitar, reading, Ping-Pong, building projects, travel. He is also a qualified Level 3 Football Coach.
