Mr Pornchai Caine
Head of Secondary
Mr Pornchai Caine graduated with a double degree with honours in International Business and Marketing in 1995 and completed his post graduate teaching degree in Information Technology in 2004. He is a fully qualified teacher of ICT and Business Studies, with industry experience of both, having worked for the UK tax office, Virgin Atlantic, an IT training director and the British Army. Prior to coming to Yew Wah, he has taught in the UK and Thailand Business Studies, Economics, ICT and English as a Second Language at both IGCSE level and A Level.
Mr Caine started his career at Yew Wah International Education School of Guangzhou as an ICT, Business Studies and English teacher in 2016. As of September 2017, he is the Examinations Officer, Curriculum Development Co-ordinator and University Guidance Counsellor. He also has over 15 years of Cambridge International experience guiding and advising students for their overseas university choices.
In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, playing sports and spending time with his wife and young daughter, Jasmin who is also a student at Yew Wah. He is also a qualified Volleyball Coach and Ski Instructor.
Ms Annabel Ye
Principal in Training/Chinese/Theme Leader
Ms Annabel Ye graduated with her bachelor's degree from the Communication University of China in 2009, and years later studied in the Education University of Hong Kong, majoring in Chinese Education. After receiving a master's degree from the EDUHK in 2014, she found a position at YEWIES Guangzhou. Now she is Co-ordinator of Chinese Humanity Curriculum.
Ms Ye is passionate in her career, with strong sense of responsibility, good sense of service and dedication. She was named Excellent New Teacher and participated in the Workshops for Excellent Teachers as the Head of Teaching and Research Group when she worked in Wen Zhou's public school. In order to pursue her own development, she went to Hong Kong to make further studies. After then she joined YWIES in 2014, where she taught Chinese CAL, Chinese PBL, IGCSE Chinese and A Level Chinese.With 10 years of practice and exploration, Ms Ye has accumulated rich experience in teaching. She was awarded Master Teacher and High Potential Teacher by the Foundation. She was promoted to be the Primary Curriculum Co-ordinator in 2017, and this year, she is the Principal in Training and Secondary Chinese/Theme Leader.
Mr Nelson Chow
Head of Secondary
Mr Nelson Chow was born and grew up in Hong Kong. He had his tertiary studies in Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and worked in the financial industry before entering the education field. He started his teaching life from 2010 in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, he further equipped himself to get his Postgraduate Diploma in Education in Hong Kong Baptist University.
His first serving school was a special education needs (SEN) school. He earned different methods in dealing with students in appropriate ways. Moreover, he also worked in main stream school in Hong Kong, where he showed his teaching skills and fulfilled students’ academic expectation.
In 2014, he travelled to Australia to explore different cultures and gained his international working experience.
Mr Chow has served YWIES Guangzhou since 2015. He is a Mathematics teacher, and became the Child Protection Officer in May 2017. He got promoted to be the Head of Secondary in April 2018.
Ms Lucy Liu
Head of Secondary
Ms Lucy Liu got her bachelor’s degrees in English Education and Maths and Applied Maths from South China Normal University and Hunan Normal University respectively. She also has a master’s degree in Maths awarded by the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Ms Lucy Liu is from China and has been a teacher for 10 years, mainly teaching IGCSE Maths and A Level Pure Maths, Statistics, Further Pure Maths, and working as a form teacher. She was awarded as “Excellent form teacher in Huadu district” in 2017. She worked as a risk management officer in financial holdings. She started teaching at YWIES in August 2015. She also organises university fair or campus visit, and offers professional suggestion about university application for parents and students through workshops, presentations and individual parent/student meetings.
Mr Anthony Dang
University Guidance Counsellor
Mr Anthony Dang was born and raised in the US in state of Hawaii. He receives his first degree in Business with Management Information Systems from the University of Hawaii. In 2005, he earned a Med in Educational Leadership and Administration at The University of Hong Kong.
Mr Dang started his career with Yew Chung and Yew Wah in 2002 holding various positions related to university progression and student travel programmes. Most recently he was the Head of the Student Affairs Office at the Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education including the responsibilities of seeing the students to their goals of further education in Hong Kong and aboard, as well as employment as kindergarten teachers.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family (he has a son and a daughter). He enjoys various sports such as tennis, hiking and going to the gym to keep fit as his other passion is cooking and baking cookies and cakes.
Ms Charley Eddolls
Ms Charley Eddolls was born and educated in the UK. After completing her BA degree, she studied a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University of Gloucestershire. This qualification led to teaching English and Drama in two UK secondary schools.
She taught in a Cheltenham high school (ages 11-18) for five years, finishing her time there as Head of English and Drama. Following this experience, in 2008 she progressed to a Head of Cultures Faculty post at a Bristol school for ages 3-16. During her time in Bristol, she led the introduction of the CIE IGCSE in English Language, in addition to other UK based qualifications.
Ms Eddolls’ passion is travel and it is her ambition to visit every country to experience everything the world has to offer. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor pursuits and is an avid countryside rambler. She is qualified as a Duke of Edinburgh assessor and enjoys introducing young people to the skills of map reading and navigating the countryside. She also loves practising fitness yoga and reading.
Mr Gary Dixon
Mr Gary Dixon received his bachelor’s degree in Business from Swinburne University, Australia. He also received a certificate in TESOL from University of Technology, Australia and Diploma of Education from Excelsia College, Australia. He is currently studying a MA. ELM at University of Nottingham, UK.
Mr Dixon is from Australia and has been a teacher for 15 years. He has worked in Qingdao (one year as principal), Beijing and Guangzhou. He also has teaching and school management experience in Russia and in Australia. He began at YWIES in August, 2015. His interests include playing football, tennis and learning Mandarin. His philosophies about learning focus on the 4 Ps: professionalism, passion, purpose and a pursuit of excellence.
Ms Lee Ellen Johnson
CE & GP Leader
Ms Lee Ellen Johnson was born and educated in the US. She is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University – ranked in the top 10 in the nation for its education department. Her career has spanned over 27 years covering every grade level from Kindergarten through Year 13 and included such countries as Sweden, South Korea, and China. Along with teaching her own classes, she has been a speaker and trainer at teacher conferences and is also trained in helping students deal with grief from family tragedy.
Ms Johnson has been with YWIES Guangzhou since its opening in 2014 and has taught a variety of subjects including Secondary English, IGCSE Global Perspectives, and A Level American History. She is currently teaching A Level World History and Sociology. She is also the Head of the Character Development Programme, a subject she passionately brings into all her classes.
Mr Tim Hu
Mr Tim Hu has a BSc degree awarded by Hebei Normal University, China and a MEd degree awarded by the Education University of Hong Kong, Kong Kong SAR, China.
Mr Hu has rich experience in teaching international Maths curriculum and Maths competitions. He has expertise in technology-integrated Maths education, content and language integrated learning, and historical pedagogy of Maths education. His Maths class is student-centred and problem-based, with the goal of developing students’ thinking skills and ability of problem solving. He is a member of Hong Kong Association for Mathematics Education. He likes outdoor activities, such as hiking, trail running, and free diving.
Mr Merlin Llewelyn Pratt
STEM Leader & Science Teacher
Mr Merlin Llewelyn Pratt was born in Wales, and studied for his GCSEs and A Levels in Llandovery College in Wales. He went to Oxford Brookes University to study for a BSc in Biology. After graduating he went to work with a wolf behavioural programme in Indiana in the northern part of the US. He worked as a rural manager near Oxford, and managed and ran a Serval cat relocation and reintroduction programme in Malawi, in South East Africa.
He returned to Oxford Brookes University to study for a professional graduate certificate in education, gaining masters credits, and becoming a fully qualified teacher in 2009.
He taught near Oxford for almost two years before relocating to Colombia to work in International schools, eventually ending up in one of the largest international schools in Bogota, the capitol city.
Ms Maggie Wan
In 2011, Ms Maggie Wan obtained a master's degree in Biology from Huazhong Agricultural University, and in 2012, she obtained a utility model patent of “Saliva DNA Collection and Preservation Device”. She has a secondary Biology teacher qualification certificate and 10 years of teaching experience. Since she joined the YWIES Guangzhou in 2015, she has taught Secondary Combined Science, IGCSE, A Level curriculum and other courses. She was awarded High Potential Teacher by the Foundation, and has served as the Secondary Science Team Leader since 2016.
Her educational philosophy is this: in the information age, teachers should play the role of interpreters of knowledge and guides to help students find the way to the truth. In the process of classroom teaching, teachers should seize the opportunity to educate, and to stimulate students' interest in learning, thus promoting students’ autonomy and initiative to learn.
Ms Jemma Green
Ms Jemma is from England and has been teaching for eight years internationally. She started out in the acting profession after completing her 3 year course in acting at Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art in England. She has appeared in various TV dramas as well as acting in and directing plays in London.
Here at Yew Wah, Ms Jemma is the secondary drama teacher. She teaches lower secondary along with IGCSE Drama and BTEC Performing Arts. She joined Yew Wah in 2015 when she also became Head of Specialist subjects (P.E, Art, Drama and Music).
Some of her shows at school include; Blood Brothers, Little Shop of Horrors and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. She was very brave in attempting to direct an American musical “Grease’ with a Chinese theme a couple of years ago to try and bridge the gap of East and West.
Ms Yasmeen Jiang
Chinese & Theme Teacher
Ms Yasmeen Jiang is a Guangzhou local. She speaks fluent Cantonese, Mandarin & English. She has been teaching Junior & Senior Secondary Chinese, Primary and Secondary CAL after becoming an YWIES Chinese teacher since 2015. She was awarded High Potential Teacher and has served as the Secondary Chinese and Humanities Department Leader since 2018. She loves teaching both Chinese Language and Literature, and always thinks it’s a unique experience teaching both foreigners and local Chinese.
Mr Iain Hill
Mr Iain Hill comes from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, a western city known as the gateway to the North. He has a mother, a brother and two sisters who live on both coasts of Canada. He loves football, racquet sports, films, and cooking.
Mr Hill has directed high school musicals in Tanzania and coached a football team to a championship. He loves watching students grow in confidence when they achieve strong results on their CIE exams.
“Every student has a unique talent to share with the world,” he said. He wants to work in China because he read a biography on Dr Norman Bethune in High School and decided then he would have to travel here one day.
He is looking forward to meeting new friends and mentoring students to their best success.
Ms Maggie Wu
Chinese & Theme Teacher
Ms Maggie Wu graduated from Nanjing Normal University with a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Philology. In 2015, she got her master’s degree in Chinese Philology from Beijing Language and Culture University.
Ms Wu has extensive working experience in teaching Chinese. She served as a mandarin teacher in Nagoya, Japan and she began working as a Chinese teacher in an international school in Shenzhen after returning to China.
Starting from February 2020, Ms Wu works in YWIES Guangzhou.
Mr Wong Chiu
Mr Wong Chiu was born in Samoa and educated in New Zealand. After graduating from the University of Auckland in 2007, he began teaching English Language and Literature from Year 9 to Year 13 at a secondary school in Auckland, New Zealand following the NZ Education Curriculum.
He moved to Brunei Darussalam on the island of Borneo in 2011 to teach English to students in a bilingual setting, gaining experience teaching IGCSE and O Level English. He also became a Discipline Dean for the school. During the following five years he became involved in mentoring expatriate teachers. Meanwhile he became ICELT certified, to develop his skills with teaching English as a Foreign Language in a bilingual or a multi-lingual setting.
In 2017, Mr Wong Chiu accepted a position as a Literacy Coach in Brunei Darussalam. His main tasks were working directly with the Ministry of Education of Brunei Darussalam to create professional development modules to develop literacy skills within the classroom. He also worked with principals and coached local English teachers about best practice in literacy teaching to develop engaging literacy activities for use in the classroom.
Ms Sophia Liu
Ms Sophia Liu graduated from South China Normal University in 2007, majoring in Business English. She has 13 years of English teaching experience, including teaching Business English Listening and Speaking, International Business Correspondence, English Reading, Comprehensive English, IELTS etc. in Guangzhou Alcanta College of Foreign Languages, where she also worked as the group leader of business lesson preparation group, teaching College English in Guangzhou Technical College of Engineering and then Postgraduate English in Success Education Group.
Ms Liu has been teaching EAL and IELTS in Yew Wah since 2018. She is the examiner of BEC (Business English Certificate of Cambridge) and PETS (Public English Test System). She has been awarded High Potential Teacher and got Second and Third Prize for many times in teaching and teaching research.
Ms Lily Liu
Chinese & Theme Teacher
Ms Lily Liu graduated from Harbin Normal University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She used to teach in the secondary school affiliated to Guangzhou University. She has rich first-line teaching and management experience and is very popular with students.
In 2015, She joined the Guangzhou Yaohua international education school and had an in-depth understanding of the differences between Chinese and western education. In order to be successful and create a successful learning environment, it is essential for a school to establish a positive relationship among teachers, parents and students. In the future, I will continue to devote ourselves to the cause of international education and contribute to the creation of an unlimited platform for students' development.
Mr Sean Connaughton
Mr Sean Connaughton was born and raised in Ireland. After having graduated from the University of Limerick Sean, he moved to the UK to further his professional development. After a year in London, he was promoted to Raising Standards Leader which involved a pastoral role with the Year 10 cohort.
While working in the UK Mr Connaughton continued his studies in subject pedagogy. He has begun teaching Mathematics in YWIES Guangzhou and is excited to get involved in school life here.
In his spare time, Mr Connaughton enjoys both watching and playing sport, exercising, woodworking, reading and travelling. He is also a qualified materials technology teacher.
Ms Shelly Li
Ms Shelly Li graduated in South China Normal University in August 2015. She got a master’s degree and a senior secondary teaching certificate.
Ms Li has been teaching international curriculum for seven years. She was a Mathematics teacher in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies Affiliated School. She joined YWIES Guangzhou in August 2015. She teaches Years 6 to 9 Mathematics. In April 2018, she led the Year 8 oversea trip, and completed all tasks smoothly.
Mr Karl Norman Coulby
Mr Karl Norman Coulby graduated from Cambridge University with a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Archaeology and Anthropology and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Secondary History. He has been teaching in various international schools around the world for 18 years.
Mr Coulby began his teaching career in England in 2001 and has since taught in schools in England, Spain, the Dominican Republic and Thailand before finally coming to Yew Wah. He has held a range of positions before including Head of Department and Head of Faculty and has worked closely with students as both the leader of the Student Council and a Director of many school productions.
Ms Lutos Wang
After receiving the qualification certificate for senior secondary teachers and the bilingual teacher qualification certificate for Mathematics and Applied Mathematics in 2016 Ms Lutos Wang has devoted herself to international education. She has taught the A Level Mathematics course at an international school in Guangzhou for two years. Many students said that Mathematics was their weakest subject in the past but Ms Wang was able to stimulate their enthusiasm and confidence in learning Mathematics to finally achieve satisfactory results. The pass rate of the CIE examination for the 23 students in her class was 100% with over 60% of students achieving B or higher.
Ms Wang's young and energetic spirit helps build a relationship of trust and respect with students. In the classroom her teaching philosophy is to focus on the development of students' curiosity about Mathematics, guide them through self-exploring, improve students' initiative in learning and give timely and objective evaluation of students' progress.
Mr Stephen Smith
Mr Stephen Smith was born in the south east of England, near London. After graduating from University in Bristol, he moved to Manchester to pursue a career in recruitment, working for the international recruitment agency Michael Page. In 2009, he decided to train as a teacher and went to university in Liverpool to complete his PGCE, taking up teaching placements in two top schools, including Wirral Grammar School for Girls.
Following his PGCE Mr Smith returned to Manchester to teach at Stockport Academy. He taught Humanities and took up the position of subject leader for Religious Education, teaching GCSE and A Level. It was in Stockport Academy that Mr Smith developed into a pastoral leader, taking on the role of Attendance Lead and later Head of Year 7. In 2015, he moved to a school in East London to take up the position of Head of House, with particular responsibility for careers education and acted as the designated safeguarding lead for the school.
Ms Grace Zhu
Ms Grace Zhu graduated from Changchun Normal University majoring in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, minored in Bilingual Mathematics at the same time, and obtained a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, bilingual Mathematics teacher qualification certificate and national secondary Mathematics teacher qualification certificate.
Ms Zhu teaches Maths courses through Years 6 to 8 of the Secondary Section now. She is easygoing, loves education career, and teaches through lively activities. She focuses on improving students' knowledge level and cultivating their ability to analyse and solve problems, and works conscientiously and responsibly.
Mr Stuart Stephens
Mr Stuart Stephens was born and educated in the UK. He initially worked in the finance industry where, as a trainer, he developed a love of education and lifelong learning. After teaching in sixth form colleges in the south of England for a number of years he took up his first International teaching position in the Bahamas. He subsequently moved to Vietnam in 2001 and he has been in Asia ever since. He first came to China in 2010. He has worked with a variety of curriculums and has considerable experience of Primary ICT through to A Level ICT and IB Diploma ICT. During the last few years he was instrumental in setting up the ICT curriculum in two new schools, Dulwich College Zhuhai and Epsom College Malaysia where he was Director of ICT.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and travelling through South East Asia. He is a keen cook and specialises in Asian food. He also enjoys golf, swimming and is a qualified cricket coach from Sussex County Cricket Club."
Mr Ken Tang
Mr Ken Tang has more than 20 years’ experience in international education. In 1996 he studied in McDonald International Academy in Toronto, Canada and obtained Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Then in 2003, he earned his Bachelor of Computer Science degree in University of New Brunswick, Canada. During his study, he won University Academic Scholarships. Moreover, he was named Dean’s list and among the top 15% of all students in Faculty of Computer Science at UNB. Mr Tang have studied and worked in Canada for 15 years.
He is one of world’s first certified teachers to teach Cambridge international A Level Computer Science curriculum of 9608. And his coursework is highly regarded by his Cambridge course tutor Mr Dave Duddell – the author of 9608 textbook and CIE authority in the field of Computer Science. Meanwhile, Mr Tang has extensive experience in teaching international curriculum of ICT and Computer science, such as AP, IGCSE and A Level. Before joining YWIES, he worked in ULink College (ULC) in Wuhan as a senior ICT/CS teacher. Above all, in 2018 CIE exams, his student attained one of the world’s highest scores in A Level A2 Computer Science and ranked top 8% in the world. In the same year, the passing rate of his A2 class is 100% and all of his students are included in the world's top 37%, which is far ahead of the global standard.
Mr William R Hester
Mr William R Hester, or Coach Bill, has spent most of his life teaching. Born and educated in the US he started teaching in 1982 where he began a 20-year career teaching, competing and leading whitewater kayaking, as well as other outdoor sports with the Nantahala Outdoor Center, one of the world’s leading international whitewater centers, and Olympic Center of Excellence. Exploring and teaching on rivers in the US, as well as Central/South America, and Asia, he found that he enjoyed helping students build confidence and succeed at a high level. Teaching Physical Education for 20 years has further developed his experiences and love of teaching. He has taught at every grade level, as well as coached a variety of sports with basketball and baseball being his areas of strength. His student-centred focus has allowed him to develop strong relationships, as well as teach creatively and with a high level of energy. His guiding principal of improving a little each day has shown students that hard work and enthusiastic participation brings great rewards.
This is his third year teaching and coaching at YWIES Guangzhou. In his spare time he enjoys writing and photography as well as anything in the outdoors; especially spending time on the river kayaking with his two adult children.
Mr Rayniel Ren
Mr Rayniel Ren has a postgraduate degree from Central South University. He has been engaged in education for more than 15 years and has 10 years teaching experience in international schools. He worked as the Head of Physics Team, IGCSE Co-ordinator, CIE Deputy Director and Teaching Director in an international school. He successfully applied for the CIE programme for the school and established a complete curriculum framework.
Mr Ren has profound teaching skills and a strong sense of responsibility. He has won the first prize of the Teaching Competition many times and was rated High Potential Teacher. Mr Ren's students have excellent academic scores and many of them have achieved good results in CIE Exams.
Mr Mike Ye
Mr Mike Ye graduated from Fudan University with a joint master's degree. After graduation, He was engaged in scientific research at Sun Yat-sen University and was also responsible for the experimental course work of graduate students.
Mr Ye has five years of international education working experience, teaching IGCSE and A Level Chemistry. He has led students to participate in the National Chemistry Competition and won the Global Bronze Award. He also led students to publish articles in the world's top scientific journals.
Mr Ye can combine the experiments with the theory in his class and make class vivid and easy to understand for the students. He also pays attention to the cultivation of students’ scientific thinking ability.
Ms Alison Peng
Ms Alison Peng graduated from Changchun Normal University, gaining the bachelor’s degree. She achieved her international bilingual teacher qualification certificate in 2016 after gaining higher level Chemistry teacher qualification. She was commended for her excellent performance and has been working in Yew Wah ever since. After accumulating a wealth of work experience, she now primarily teaches IG, AP and other international courses.
Ms Peng has a unique pedagogy; she is skilled at identifying the strengths of her students, then differentiating and challenging her students to yet further enhance these areas. She has also demonstrated a natural talent for psychological counselling, ensuring her students are comfortable and receptive to new knowledge and skills in her lessons. She is highly thought of and loved by students, staff and parents alike. She always adheres to the principle of "loving her students, and devoting herself to teaching happily".
She has a lots of hobbies, including reading, travelling and playing sports."
Ms Shirley Xu
After receiving the qualification certificate for senior secondary teachers and the bilingual teacher qualification certificate for Biology in 2016, Ms Shirley Xu has devoted herself to international education. Ms Xu focuses on learning and teaching with the highly sense of responsibility. She is skilled at identifying the strengths of her students, then differentiating and challenging her students to yet further enhance these areas. In the classroom her teaching philosophy is to focus on the development of students' curiosity about science, guide student participation in an active class atmosphere, combine the knowledge with life, improve their learning autonomy and independence. She always adheres to the principle of "helping confused student and concentrating on the happiness of students ".
Ms Flora Wang
Ms Flora Wang graduated from Xinyang normal university in 2008 with a bachelor‘s degree in Biotechnology. She was admitted to Shanghai Ocean University for her master's degree in Environmental Science and Engineering in 2015.
Ms Wang was the main person in charge of many provincial and municipal water environment projects, who has over ten years of scientific inquiry and research experience. She won several invention patents and utility model patents, and wrote many national core journal articles. Since joining the international school science group, she has been responsible for the teaching of scientific experiment (national curriculum and IGCSE), comprehensive inquiry teaching and lab management. She joined YWIES as an Integrated Science teacher in the Secondary Section and the laboratory administrator, responsible for the management of the lab in 2019.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time on music, photography, yoga, rope skipping, travel, etc. She once won the amateur level five of guzheng.
Ms Dorothy Li
Ms Dorothy Li graduated from Chinese University of Hong Kong with a master’s degree and was placed on the Dean’s list in 2013.
Ms Li has three years of international education working experience, teaching IGCSE and A Level Economics and Business Studies. She once led the students to get the Golden Award in ASDAN Business Simulation Competition in Zhuji, Zhejiang and the team was invited to take part in 2018 World Youth Economic Forum in Shanghai.
Ms Li can bring the real business cases and current affairs to her class, making the class vivid and easy to understand for the students. She also pays attention to the cultivation of students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ms Jade Chen
Ms Jade Chen graduated from Southern Jiangxi Normal University in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature. She was immediately admitted to Guangxi Normal University and received a master's degree in History in 2011.
Ms Chen has seven years of teaching experience. From 2012 to 2014, she worked at Huangjiang Secondary School in Dongguan, and she was awarded as Excellent Class Teacher and Excellent Teacher in Dongguan for two consecutive years. She has been teaching Chinese Social Studies since she joined Yew Wah in 2014, and also she was the founding teacher. She was rated as a High Potential Teacher. Her class is full of passion, humor and wit. She always leads students to think in the historical materials. She was deeply loved by students.
Ms Tina Su
Ms Tina Su, a Mongolian, learnt piano from four years old. She began studying composing in 2006, instructed by Professor Gu Zhimian, Professor Zhao Guang and Professor Lu Pei.
She was admitted to the Composing Department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2008. She attended Master Chen Xiaoyong's class, Master Qu Komatsu's class, Master Coriano's class, Master Tan Dun's class and so on. In June 2013, her Violin Concerto ""Lonely Sea"" was performed by Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, and was well received. She studied for a master’s degree in Composing at Shanghai Conservatory of Music in the same year.
She joined the Shanghai Rainbow Choir in September 2011 and served as First Soprano from 2015 to 2017. In 2016 as a performance guest she participated in the ""Tian Mao Twin Eleven Carnival Night"", and in 2017 on behalf of the choir participated in the ""WeChat Red Man Show"" and won the most popular classical music group award of the year.
Ms Christy Huang
Ms Christy Huang is a native Cantonese. She was born and raised in Zhanjiang, a beautiful coastal city of Guangdong. In 2006, she studied Music at South China Normal University in Guangzhou and obtained a bachelor's degree in Music. During the four years, she majored in Voice Performance and Teaching, and minored in Piano Performance, Impromptu Piano Performance and Teaching, Chorus Training and Conducting, and Folk Dance.
From 2010 to 2017, she taught Music in Shi Men Experimental School of Foshan City, Guangdong Province, and served as Chorus Conductor, guiding students in stage performances and competitions for many times. In addition, Ms Huang was awarded as the Excellent Young Music Teacher of Foshan Nanhai Secondary School, the First Class prize of Skills Competition for Music teachers of Foshan Secondary School, the honour of outstanding Chorus Instructor and best Chorus Conductor of Foshan City.
In July 2017, Ms Huang went to the Conservatory of Music of the University of Tasmania, Australia for her master's degree in Music Studies, majoring in Classical Voice Performance and Teaching. In April 2019, she was the Classic &Opera singer of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. During her study in Australia, in addition to holding personal concerts and performing with symphony orchestras, she also tutored local students in music courses such as vocal music and piano.
Ms Chenchen Shen
Ms Chenchen Shen got a bachelor's degree of Art Design from Hunan University of Science and Technology in 2009. After graduation, she has been working for international schools as a Visual Art teacher in Guangzhou. She has nine years of teaching experience in Chinese and Western art courses. In addition to the course teaching, she organised art exhibitions at home and abroad to improve and expand students' art cognition and artistic accomplishment.
Ms Emily Zhong
Ms Emily Zhong graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in Exhibition Design. She worked in Zhuhai Dulwich International High School, with three years of CIE and two years of Edexcel Art and Design teaching experience. She participated in IGCSE and A Level Art and Design teaching trainings. Ms Zhong is good at using different materials. In addition to teaching basic drawing and painting skills, she is also good at stimulating students' creative thinking. In addition to art teaching, she also has worked as an IELTS teaching assistant, form teacher, and she has taught community service lessons. Ms Zhong likes mountain climbing, swimming, running and other sports.
